This role involves reviewing security controls, monitoring potential threats, testing configurations, and working with IT colleagues to keep systems secure. We're looking for someone who can investigate problems carefully, explain technical findings clearly, and follow through on security fixes. You'll need a practical understanding of cybersecurity and the judgment to recognise when an issue needs immediate attention. What You'll Be Responsible For Monitor security alerts and investigate suspicious activity across company systems and networks. Review system configurations, access permissions, and security controls to identify weaknesses. Help maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, intrusion detection tools, and other security technologies. Investigate security incidents, gather relevant evidence, and document findings. Work with IT teams to resolve vulnerabilities and verify that corrective actions have been completed. Support vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation based on risk and severity. Review system logs and security reports to identify unusual activity or recurring issues. Help maintain security policies, technical procedures, and incident response documentation. Assist with security testing and configuration reviews before systems or changes are deployed. Support patch management and checks to ensure systems receive appropriate security updates. Help employees understand security procedures, safe account practices, and how to report suspicious activity. Communicate security risks, investigation results, and unresolved issues to the appropriate stakeholders. What You'll Bring Professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, network security, or a related IT role. Working knowledge of security principles, network protocols, operating systems, and access controls. Familiarity with vulnerability assessment, security monitoring, and incident investigation. Understanding of endpoint protection, firewalls, system hardening, and patch management. Ability to review logs, investigate alerts, and distinguish routine activity from potential threats. Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint detection and response solutions. Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash are useful. Strong analytical skills and a careful approach to investigating technical issues. Clear written communication and the ability to document security findings accurately. Good judgment when handling confidential information and security-related evidence. Ability to work with IT colleagues to resolve problems and confirm that fixes are effective. What We Expect We expect security findings to be supported by evidence, incidents to be reported promptly, and remediation work to be checked before an issue is considered resolved. If an alert cannot be explained or a vulnerability remains open, you should communicate the situation clearly rather than assume the risk has been addressed. You'll also need to handle sensitive information responsibly, follow established procedures, and keep accurate records of investigations and corrective actions. We value people who take security concerns seriously and can explain technical risks without unnecessary complexity.
