Description We are looking for a Cybersecurity Technician to join a manufacturing organization in Pompano Beach, Florida in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position combines hands-on technical support with cybersecurity compliance work, helping protect sensitive controlled information while strengthening the company's security posture. The role will contribute to audit preparedness, risk management, and secure system operations by partnering with internal teams and external providers across the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver advanced second-level support by diagnosing technical issues, identifying root causes, and resolving workstation, system, and network-related problems.
- Keep hardware, software, and service records accurate by maintaining inventory details and updating ticketing documentation for reporting and traceability.
- Help safeguard controlled information by applying established handling practices and aligning day-to-day activities with applicable cybersecurity and federal compliance obligations.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain compliance artifacts such as security plans, remediation trackers, policies, procedures, control documentation, and audit support materials.
- Strengthen audit readiness through ongoing upkeep of evidence repositories, status dashboards, and records that demonstrate control performance.
- Perform security reviews that include risk evaluations, vulnerability analysis, threat modeling, control validation, and continuous monitoring activities.
- Use security monitoring and log analysis tools, including SIEM platforms, to identify suspicious activity, investigate potential threats, and support incident awareness.
- Support secure operations within government cloud environments and assist with cybersecurity-focused implementations, infrastructure changes, and network initiatives.
- Improve operational efficiency by using scripting or automation to streamline compliance tasks, recurring checks, and reporting processes.
- Partner with business teams, technical staff, and third-party vendors to confirm systems and services meet security requirements and communicate technical expectations clearly to nontechnical audiences. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, compliance, or a similar technical security role.
- Working knowledge of NIST-based security requirements, including NIST SP 800-171, along with familiarity with FedRAMP and broader cybersecurity governance practices.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, supporting vulnerability management efforts, and using monitoring or analysis tools within a security program.
- Hands-on familiarity with SIEM technologies such as ArcSight and an understanding of data privacy, database security, and security standards.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, maintain compliance records, and explain security expectations to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications are preferred, such as Security+, CompTIA Security+, or comparable industry-recognized credentials.
