V2X is seeking a Systems Security Engineer I to join our Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting cybersecurity for advanced mission systems. These systems include mission computers, avionics, sensors, and mission equipment for airborne and ground platforms. As a Systems Security Engineer I, you will work with experienced security and systems engineers to protect mission critical systems through secure configurations, vulnerability management, and RMF compliance activities. Responsibilities In this role you will support security documentation, baseline hardening, evidence collection, and basic assessment tasks while learning DoD RMF and NIST guidance. You will collaborate within cross functional Integrated Product Teams where effective communication and teamwork are essential. In this role you will:

+ Assist with system categorization and initial control mapping to

NIST SP 800 53

+ Support development and maintenance of System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and security evidence repositories

+ Execute baseline vulnerability scans and document findings for remediation tracking

+ Apply standard configuration baselines and STIG checklists to assigned components

+ Help assemble inputs for Security Assessment Plans and assessment activities

+ Support basic control verification activities and collect test evidence during integration or lab events

Qualifications Required Skills:

+ Self-driven with a strong sense of accountability, able to manage tasks and deliver quality work on schedule.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication.

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.

+ Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Desired Skills:

+ Previous internships or experience with development projects is desired

+ Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

+ Fundamental understanding of System Security processes

+ Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools, STIG concepts, and basic hardening procedures

+ Collaborative mindset with active listening and respect for diverse viewpoints

+ Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance. Education /

Certifications:
