JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated Junior Security Analyst to join our growing cybersecurity team. This entry-level role will be responsible for managing and resolving security-related tickets, responding to alerts, supporting access management requests, and assisting with day-to-day security operations. The primary objective of this position is to help reduce and eliminate the current backlog of security requests while enabling senior cybersecurity team members to focus on strategic initiatives, security improvements, and threat defense activities. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, strong troubleshooting skills, and a desire to build a career in security operations. Key Responsibilities Review, prioritize, and resolve security-related tickets within established service level agreements (SLAs). Manage the cybersecurity team's ticket queue and work through a backlog of approximately 80 outstanding requests. Respond to user access requests, account modifications, and security-related service requests. Support Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes, including provisioning, deprovisioning, access reviews, and role-based access control activities. Investigate security alerts and escalate potential threats to senior security personnel when necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 0-2 years of cybersecurity, security operations, help desk, or IT support experience. Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including: Identity and Access Management (IAM) Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID Access controls and least-privilege principles Security monitoring and alert investigation Network security fundamentals Vulnerability management concepts Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
CompTIA Security+ certification.
Experience with:
Active Directory Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) SSO technologies (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools Vulnerability management platforms Microsoft security technologies Exposure to security monitoring or Security Operations Center (SOC) environments. Understanding of Zero Trust and modern identity security concepts.
