A Vulnerability Analyst or Penetration Tester probes for and exploits security vulnerabilities in web-based applications, networks and systems. Penetration Tests are designed to achieve a specific, attacker-simulated goal and should be requested by customers who are already at their desired security posture. A typical goal could be to access the contents of the prized customer database on the internal network, or to modify a record in an HR system. Vulnerability Assessments are designed to yield a prioritized list of vulnerabilities and are generally for clients who already understand they are not where they want to be in terms of security. The customer already knows they have issues and simply need help identifying and prioritizing them.

Principal Cybersecurity Specialist at Horizontal Talent Principal Cybersecurity Specialist at Horizontal Talent in Mounds View, Minnesota Posted in 5 days ago. $57.00 - $92.00 per hour We're looking for a seasoned Identity Governance Specialist to lead access certification and review initiatives within a complex enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to shape governance processes, strengthen audit readiness, and help improve how identities, entitlements, and access are managed across multiple systems. Responsibilities Own the design, configuration, and ongoing management of access certification and review processes. Translate governance requirements, control objectives, and compliance needs into scalable certification workflows. Define and support integrations using connector-based, API-based, file-based, and database-backed methods. Configure user, entitlement, role, and application certification campaigns, including reviewer assignment and delegation logic. Establish escalation paths, reminders, completion timelines, and automated remediation workflows. Review changes that may affect certification accuracy, auditability, control effectiveness, or scalability. Use SQL and relational data knowledge to support reconciliation, reporting, and troubleshooting. Document configuration details, operational processes, and certification runbooks to support ongoing governance. Partner with business, application, audit, compliance, and security teams to align governance requirements with system capabilities. Continuously evaluate platform features and best practices to improve the effectiveness of certification programs. Skills Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4+ years of experience in Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) or Identity and Access Management (IAM). Hands-on experience operating SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, especially access certifications and reviews. Strong knowledge of user, entitlement, and role certifications, along with identity correlation and aggregation. Experience with entitlement modeling and role-based access control (RBAC). Working knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as REST APIs or PowerShell. Experience analyzing data quality issues that affect certification accuracy. Ability to explain technical decisions, risk considerations, and evidence clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills Experience supporting identity lifecycle and deprovisioning workflows. Background designing certification programs in large, complex, or regulated environments. Technical leadership experience and the ability to influence across teams. Experience establishing or updating process documentation in response to changing security needs. Knowledge of information security policies, standards, and governance controls. Familiarity with cybersecurity operations, vulnerability assessment, or threat-focused environments.
