We design, install, commission and maintain integrated CCTV, access control, intruder alarm and fire alarm systems for clients across the commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, public sector, heritage and critical infrastructure sectors. As our business continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and customer-focused Security Systems Engineer to join our professional engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies on a wide variety of prestigious projects nationwide whilst developing your technical skills through continuous training and manufacturer accreditation. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of a wide range of electronic security systems, ensuring all works are completed safely, professionally and to the highest standards. You will work on projects ranging from small commercial installations through to large enterprise security systems, delivering exceptional service to our customers whilst representing Sonic Security Services Ltd with professionalism at all times. Key Responsibilities Installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems. Fault diagnosis, repairs and preventative maintenance visits. Installation of structured cabling and associated containment where required. Reading and interpreting drawings, schematics and technical specifications. Completing commissioning documentation, service reports and customer handovers. Ensuring all works comply with relevant British Standards, NSI requirements and company procedures. Providing customers with technical advice and first-class service. Working independently or as part of a project delivery team. Participating in the company call-out rota where applicable. Maintaining excellent standards of workmanship, health & safety and housekeeping on every project. About You You will be a motivated engineer with a passion for delivering quality installations and excellent customer service. Essential Requirements Minimum of 3 years' experience within the electronic security industry. Proven experience installing, servicing and commissioning commercial security systems. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required. Full UK Driving Licence. A positive, professional and reliable approach to work. Desirable Experience Experience with one or more of the following would be advantageous: CCTV systems Access Control systems Intruder Alarm systems Fire Alarm systems (installation, servicing or commissioning) Experience with manufacturers such as Axis Communications, Avigilon, Hanwha Vision, Paxton, Suprema, Honeywell, Pyronix,Texecom, Advanced, Apollo, TP-Link, Hikvision would also be beneficial. Fire alarm experience is desirable but not essential. We are committed to developing our engineers and will provide ongoing FIA training together with manufacturer training and support for candidates looking to expand their knowledge into fire detection and alarm systems.
