Job Description
A growing retail/manufacturing organization in Chicago is seeking a senior security leader to own and evolve its cybersecurity program. This is a full-time, hybrid role focused on enterprise security, compliance, and risk management within a modern ecommerce and internal systems environment. The position combines leadership, technical oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys building, scaling, and refining security programs rather than maintaining the status quo. The organization has already invested in its security foundation and is looking for a leader who can bring structure, maturity, and forward momentum. The role offers visibility, influence, and the chance to shape both cybersecurity strategy and the future of data privacy while working closely with engineering, IT, and executive stakeholders. Required Skills and Experience Experience building and scaling enterprise security programs Strong background in cybersecurity operations, governance, and risk management Hands-on knowledge of vulnerability management and security tooling Experience managing security teams and external vendors Exposure to audits, compliance frameworks, and regulatory requirements Ability to partner effectively with IT, engineering, legal, and compliance teams Desired Skills and Experience PCI DSS experience SOC audit experience, with SOC 2 exposure preferred Background in ecommerce, retail, logistics, or enterprise operational environments Understanding of data privacy concepts and program development Experience operating in a growing or maturing security organization What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 50% Cybersecurity program ownership and technical oversight 25% Compliance, audits, and governance 25% Vendor management and stakeholder collaboration Daily Responsibilities 50% Hands On leadership and technical decision making 30% Management duties including team development and vendor oversight 20% Cross-functional collaboration with IT, engineering, legal, and compliance The Offer Bonus eligible You will receive the following benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Vacation Time Stock Options Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
