This role is ideal for an early-career cybersecurity professional looking to develop hands-on experience monitoring, investigating, and responding to security events in a large enterprise environment. The SOC Monitoring Analyst will leverage security tools and established processes to identify potential threats, analyze alerts, and support incident response activities. The position offers exposure to a broad range of cybersecurity technologies while working alongside experienced security professionals in a collaborative team environment. This is a long-term contract opportunity with the potential for extension or conversion. The role follows a hybrid schedule in the Farmington, CT area and requires flexibility to support off-hours, weekends, and holiday coverage as needed. Required Skills & Experience U.S. Citizenship required Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Science, or a related field CompTIA Security+ certification Demonstrated ability to work in a detailed technical environment Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, network topology, and network security Understanding of Windows and/or UNIX operating systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Desired Skills & Experience Experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump Familiarity with SIEM platforms including Splunk, syslog, and NetFlow analysis Experience working with endpoint security technologies such as Carbon Black, Symantec, McAfee, Forcepoint, or Tanium Additional cybersecurity certifications including CySA+, CEH, GSEC, GCIH, GIAC, AWS, Azure, or Cybersecurity Bootcamp certifications Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving capabilities Passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities Monitor and investigate security alerts from IDS/IPS, firewalls, proxies, servers, endpoints, and network devices Analyze security events within a SIEM environment and determine appropriate response actions Escalate incidents in accordance with established incident response procedures Review logs and security data to identify suspicious activity and emerging threats Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to support enterprise security initiatives Document investigations, findings, and response activities Assist with ongoing improvements to security operations processes and procedures The Offer Pay rate: Up to $27.50/hour 36-month contract opportunity Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) You will receive the following benefits Medical Insurance Dental Benefits Vision Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) US Citizenship is required for this role
