Job Requirements Alexandria, VA Top Secret/SCI CI Polygraph Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience) $90,000 - $113,000 Job Description Flight Safety Analyst Omitron is seeking a Flight Safety Analyst to join our team in Alexandria, VA . Analysts will conduct routine screening of satellite orbits for potential safety-of-flight risks to orbiting satellites. As they perform operations, they will be taught the technical complexities and processes of supporting multiple satellite constellations at the peak of U.S. satellite technology. These operations support all phases of the satellite life cycle from development, launch, operations, anomaly troubleshooting, passivation, and reentry. Analysts will learn from senior scientists, mid-level engineers, and partner organizations to develop their skills and build them into members of the best spaceflight safety operations team.
Responsibilities:
Train on multiple complex aerospace systems designed to screen satellite orbits for hazards. Interface with multiple satellite constellation operators to provide information on identified hazards. Act as subject matter expert in outer space environment and spaceflight hazards for space enterprise. Learn system functions and troubleshoot basic failures and anomalies. Submit system reports on performance and deficiency Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create temporary procedures in support of ongoing operations. Prepare and give briefings to mid and senior-level management on satellite and space-related activities Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness. Be adaptable to changing priorities in an operations environment. Work is 100% on-site and cannot be accomplished remotely.
Minimum Requirements:
US Citizenship required
Security Clearance:
Top Secret/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph required
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering, Physics, or similar STEM degree.
Experience:
2+ years of prior relevant experience in Orbital Analyst, Space Domain Awareness, Radio Frequency Interference, Laser Analysis, or similar in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat Linux experience Windows experience Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications Experience serving government customers
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $113,000 . Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, technical expertise, certifications, security clearance, geographic location, internal equity, market conditions, contract requirements, and other factors.
