Security Specialist (Direct Hire)

This position is located in the Office of Protective services, Langley Research Center Hampton Virginia. As an Information and Industrial Security Specialist, you will plan, analyze, develop, and implement Center security policies, standards and procedures and represent Langley Research Center to boards, committees and working groups. You will be required to serve as an Armed Federal Agent and complete the Federal Arrest Authority Academy.

Qualifications:

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-13 , you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Monitoring a property protection program to prevent and detect the theft, damage, or destruction of Government property; Independently planning, coordinating, and implementing security policies and ensuring compliance with information and industrial security requirements; Collaborating with the federal authorities to design and implement security measures to provide anti-terrorism, anti-espionage and sabotage protection.
