Job Description:
The Director of the Senator Patrick Leahy School of Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing serves as the chief academic leader for one of Norwich University's most strategically important and visible programs. Since 1999, cybersecurity has been central to Norwich's identity and national reputation, producing leaders in cybersecurity, cyber operations, and digital forensics. The Director plays a pivotal role in advancing this legacy as the University further integrates artificial intelligence, offensive cybersecurity, information warfare, and other emerging technologies into its academic portfolio. The Director oversees faculty, curriculum development, course scheduling, and budget management, while fostering a collaborative culture of teaching, research, and service across undergraduate programs in computer science, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and information warfare, as well as new offerings in AI and offensive cyber. The School is housed in Mack Hall, Norwich's newest academic building, and will be complemented in 2026 by the opening of the Cyber Fusion Center, providing expanded opportunities for public- and private-sector partnerships. As one of the six Senior Military Colleges, Norwich also plays a national role in cyber workforce development. Through the Department of Defense Cyber Institute (DoDCI) grant, the Director serves as lead for the Cyber Leadership Development Program, stewarding significant resources to enhance experiential learning and to strengthen vital partnerships with agencies, industry organizations, research centers, and Norwich's online graduate and undergraduate programs. This position requires a forward-looking, entrepreneurial leader committed to preparing students for a rapidly evolving technological landscape while ensuring academic excellence and program relevance.
Requirements:
Candidates must hold a terminal degree in cybersecurity, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a closely related field, or demonstrate equivalent professional accomplishment and leadership in industry, government, or related sectors, with qualifications commensurate with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, Professor, or Professor of Practice. Demonstrated university-level teaching experience and a strong record of academic or professional leadership are essential. The University seeks a dynamic leader with expertise in cybersecurity, AI, advanced computing, or related domains, and with a clear understanding of emerging technologies shaping the field. Successful candidates will demonstrate strategic vision; experience managing faculty, budgets, or academic programs; and a commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment. The role requires exceptional relationship-building skills, including the ability to collaborate with internal partners (undergraduate and graduate programs, research centers, NUARI) and to cultivate external relationships with industry, government agencies, and other stakeholders. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to balance rigorous undergraduate education with forward-looking program innovation are essential.
Additional Information:

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring immigration sponsorship, including but not limited to non-immigrant visas such as H1B, STEM, or F1, now or in the future. A post offer, pre-employment background check will be required of the successful candidate.
