Position:
Technology Services Director Salary Range:
$94,592.88 - $141,305.42 annually; Starting Salary
DOQ, DOE
Location Technology Services Department Employment Type:
Full-time (40 hours/week); FLSA Exempt;

Brief Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technology Services Director is responsible for management of the day-to-day activities and long-term strategic vision pertaining to the Walla Walla County information and telecommunications networks, Service Desk, data backup and disaster recovery systems, network security, servers and desktop computers, and technology contracting. Direct oversight public records requests and processes and all Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data sets. Provides training and direction on all technology related aspects, coordinates workflow and project assignments. This position serves as a working Director and a technical expert and resource for all staff assigned to the Technology Services Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Exercises full range of supervisor responsibilities for the staff of the Technology Services Department.
Working Environment/Physical Abilities:
Work is mainly performed in an indoor office type environment with potential exposure to heavy dust. Bending at the waist, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and/or otherwise positioning oneself to accomplish tasks. Sitting, standing or otherwise remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Prolonged exposure to glare from computer monitors. Lifting and carrying objects up to fifty (50) pounds. Hearing, speaking or otherwise communicating to exchange information in person and on the phone. Reading and understanding a variety of materials. May have contact with angry and/or dissatisfied employees and/or customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education And Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a closely related field; AND 10 years of significant experience in the administration or supervision of information technology systems including direct responsibility for leading, supervising or managing operations, programs and services, voice and data networks, customer web interface programs, integration responsibilities with vendors and contractors, budget/fiscal oversight/administration and project management; OR an equivalent combination of education, training/certificates, and experience. Excellent communication abilities required. Current networking, security and/or Microsoft Server Certificates highly desired. Prior experience in state or local government highly desired.
Licenses And Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license. Must successfully pass a background check, a driving record check and fingerprinting. Must sign a non-disclosure agreement with Walla Walla County. Must complete Public Records training within six (6) months of hire. Must complete HIPAA Security and Privacy training within six (6) months of hire. Must complete Criminal Justice Information System security training within sixty (60) days.
