Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a new project focused on building a large-scale data aggregation and compliance platform. You'll work with complex ingestion pipelines, Kafka, graph databases, PostgreSQL, and a 7-10 year historical data migration, with a strong focus on data quality and reliability. It's a great opportunity to join early and have a real impact on the data architecture and integration approach. Essential functions Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation workflows across all in-scope source systems. Define and document field-level schema mappings between PDM Teamcenter material attributes and the Compliance Core graph. Configure, maintain, and operate ingestion pipelines, including
REST API
adapters for automated ingestion of material attributes and compliance results. Map AML and supplier hierarchy structures to the graph data model. Develop synchronization jobs for revision-controlled BOM events and automated engineering change triggers. Design and implement an ID harmonization service for cross-system identifier resolution, validation, and batch processing. Design and execute ETL pipelines to load, transform, and validate 7-10 years of historical grading results and aggregated data. Support general backend development activities in collaboration with the Tech Lead until the dedicated Backend Engineer joins the team. Perform ongoing data quality validation and ensure consistency across integrated systems. Collaborate with compliance stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve legacy data anomalies before ingestion. Qualifications 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on ETL development and data pipeline design. Hands-on production experience with Apache Kafka, including reliable, replayable, and no-data-loss processing patterns. Experience with graph data modeling and loading data into graph databases. Specific graph database technology is less important than strong graph modeling expertise, as the technology is still being selected. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with graph query languages. Experience executing large-scale historical data backfills and migrations where data accuracy must be validated, documented, and formally verified. Strong understanding of data-quality principles, with the ability to define, implement, and enforce data-quality gates. Experience designing and integrating REST APIs. Strong Python development skills. Ability to support general backend development tasks alongside the Tech Lead until the dedicated Backend Engineer joins the team. Ability to maintain partial overlap with Pacific Time working hours. Would be a plus Experience with Neo4j and Cypher. Java and Spring Boot experience. Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or similar PLM/PDM systems and data structures. Experience with master data management, identifier harmonization, or cross-system identifier mapping. Supply chain, materials, or compliance domain knowledge. Experience with large-scale graph bulk-loading tools and processes. Experience with historical data migrations where integrity and traceability had to be demonstrated for audit or compliance purposes.
