The Opportunity The Data Engineering Intern will support the delivery of foundational data work used for analytics and reporting. Working with technologies such as SQL, Python, and Databricks, the intern will help build, test, document, and maintain data pipelines and datasets while improving data quality and automating manual processes. Through this experience, you will gain hands-on experience with enterprise data engineering practices and modern data platforms; build skills in SQL, Python, testing, documentation, and data-quality management; and learn how foundational data products support business analytics and reporting. What You'll Do Assist with building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and datasets. Use SQL and Python to integrate and transform source-system data. Support development of scalable enterprise data products for analytics and reporting. Perform data-quality checks, investigate issues, and document findings. Create or update technical documentation for pipelines, datasets, and recurring processes. Identify opportunities to automate manual data tasks and improve reliability. Build or enhance an assigned data pipeline or dataset using established team practices; complete testing and documentation that demonstrate data quality and maintainability; present the delivered solution, technical decisions, and recommended next steps to the team. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience using SQL and Python. Foundational understanding of data structures, transformation, and problem solving. Preferred Qualifications A rising sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree Familiarity with Databricks, dbt, or similar data engineering tools. Strong communication, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Problem-solving mindset and close attention to detail.
