This is a hands-on role focused on building and scaling production data infrastructure that supports high-volume applications, analytics, and machine learning systems. You'll own critical pipelines from ingestion through transformation and storage while working closely with backend and ML engineers. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-throughput data pipelines Build integrations with external systems using APIs, webhooks, and change data capture (CDC) Transform, validate, and normalize complex datasets for production and analytical use Design and optimize schemas across Snowflake and MySQL Build data infrastructure supporting real-time applications and downstream ML workloads Deploy and operate production data pipelines and services in AWS Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and data-quality checks Improve pipeline reliability, scalability, and performance Build internal tooling around data ingestion, validation, and monitoring Partner closely with backend and ML engineers Ensure appropriate security and compliance practices for sensitive data What You Need 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Backend Engineering Strong Python and SQL Hands-on experience with Snowflake and MySQL Experience designing and building production data pipelines Production experience with AWS Experience with APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures Experience with CDC or high-volume database ingestion Strong understanding of schema design and database performance optimization Experience working with sensitive or regulated data Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field Ability to work onsite in Jersey City, NJ at least 3 days per week Nice to Have Experience building data infrastructure for machine learning or AI systems Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry Experience working in a startup or high-growth engineering environment Compensation & Benefits $180,000-$240,000 base salary + equity 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Generous PTO Commuter stipend Benefits For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
