Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 3:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern Time. Weekend flexibility required, with planned weekend hours for one weekend in June, one in July, and Labor Day weekend. Job Description We are seeking a DataStage Engineer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM DataStage platform engineering, performance tuning, and advanced incident response and a proven ability to stabilize high-volume data migration workloads during mock cycles, cutover, and post go-live periods .

Responsibilities:

Execute advanced troubleshooting and incident response to rapidly diagnose and resolve job failures to maintain test and production stability. Monitor, engineer, and optimize the DataStage platform for performance under increased test and cutover volumes. Provide hands-on oversight and issue resolution during mock cycles, conversion weekend, and the stabilization period that follows. Detect and resolve job performance issues, bottlenecks, and abends to ensure stable and predictable data migration. Tune and scale DataStage jobs to meet high-throughput requirements for cutover and mock testing. Deliver Level 3/4 engineering support, including root cause identification and rapid remediation, to reduce operational and timeline risk. Safeguard business continuity across integrations that affect customer account setup, transaction history migration, downstream regulatory reporting, and product readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Expertise with IBM DataStage design, administration, and performance tuning. Proficiency in SQL and ETL best practices for large-scale data processing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with incident response experience in production environments. Experience supporting cutover, mock cycles, and post go-live stabilization for complex data migrations. Effective communication and teamwork across platform, application, and business stakeholders. 5+ years in ETL engineering roles with a focus on DataStage operations.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with high-volume data conversion programs in regulated industries. Background in observability, capacity planning, and SRE practices for ETL platforms. Why BCforward?
