Job Description

EXL is partnering with a leading telecom client to support and evolve its enterprise data platforms. As a Data Engineer, you will ensure the reliability and performance of critical ETL processes, drive platform enhancements, and serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, ETL Development, or a related field. Strong hands-on SQL skills with experience supporting production ETL workloads. Proven experience in ETL operations, production support, incident management, and root cause analysis. Strong understanding of database performance tuning, server resource management, and capacity planning; SQL Server experience is a plus. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage client teams and navigate ambiguity. Drive stability, availability, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms through ETL operations, infrastructure support, stakeholder request management, and process optimization. Monitor daily ETL workflows, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive solutions. Review technical requirements and code changes, test and deploy enhancements, and coordinate with vendors and upstream teams to incorporate source system changes. Monitor database and server performance, capacity, and resource utilization, proactively addressing issues and bottlenecks. Maintain operational documentation and manage client communications, including status updates, stakeholder alignment, and risk escalation
