Full Job Description Role Summary:
Nuuly is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer who will partner closely with our Sr. Business Intelligence Manager to guide both the strategy and implementation of our data architecture. This includes not only the formulation of data tables and BI tooling but also the advancement of our ETL processes. A key part of your role involves bolstering the efficacy & reliability of our data infrastructure. You'll develop & refine our ETL processes, striving for accuracy and timeliness in data transformation. Your proficiency in SQL will be harnessed to draft complex queries, enabling effective extraction and analysis of data from various sources. You will be an ambassador for best practices in data management and uphold our data governance standards. Additionally, creating precise and understandable documentation for technical requirements, specifications, and solutions will be a vital aspect of your role.
Role Responsibilities:
Database management : Maintain, optimize, and enhance our existing data infrastructure ensuring high performance and reliability. Data transformation : Develop and optimize ETL processes, ensuring accurate and timely data transformation.
SQL :
Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources.
Data Literacy :
Understand business context and support analysts/stakeholders in crafting and standardizing source-of-truth data models/visualizations
Best Practices :
Promote best practices for data management and ensure adherence to data governance standards.
Documentation :
Document technical requirements, specifications, and solutions.
Role Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years' experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, or similar role, with a proven track record of managing complex data projects (
Bonus:
familiarity with startups, ecommerce or subscription based businesses) Minimum 3+ years of experience with dbt and git 4+ years experience with SQL, with demonstrated expertise in writing and optimizing complex queries; familiarity with BigQuery will be advantageous. Hands-on experience in maintaining and optimizing ETL/Orchestration tools such as Airflow, Mage, or Prefect. A robust understanding of database architecture and data warehousing, with the ability to design and implement effective data storage solutions. Proficiency in Python or another data-centric programming language
Bonus:
experience with Looker, Fivetran, or other data integration platforms
