Data Engineer#26-07792 $64.98-$72.20 per hour Buffalo, NY 20% Remote Job Description Data Engineer Buffalo, NY - Hybrid, 4 days onsite 12-18M Contract Overview We are seeking a Technical Data Engineer with strong Python data engineering expertise to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data solutions supporting risk and regulatory reporting. This role will focus on data analysis in Snowflake, Python-based microservices and APIs, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and PostgreSQL data modeling to support enterprise risk retorting and FED regulatory submissions via Power BI. Key Responsibilities Analyze and understand enterprise data from multiple sources including Snowflake, files, and other databases. Write complex SQL queries to extract and analyze large datasets. Develop Python-based data processing workflows for transformation, validation, and computation. Use Python libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation and calculation logic. Implement risk and regulatory computation rules within data processing pipelines. Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines to move data from source systems into PostgreSQL. Build and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, tables, and optimized queries for downstream reporting. Identify data challenges and inconsistencies across source systems and propose solutions. Collaborate with enterprise data architects and domain SMEs to ensure accurate data modeling and transformation. Support Power BI datasets used for risk and regulatory reporting. Required Skills Candidates must have hands-on experience with: Python Data Engineering (strong hands-on coding) Python data libraries such as Pandas and NumPy Advanced SQL and complex query writing Working with multiple data sources and heterogeneous datasets PostgreSQL or other relational databases

Must be a hands-on senior engineer capable of working independently and taking ownership of data initiatives.
