The Opportunity The Data Engineer (Entry-Level) supports the data and analytics lifecycle and contributes to building production-grade data and analytics solutions under guidance. The role offers exposure to Big Data, Engineering, and Cloud technologies. This is an individual contributor role where the candidate will learn to solve business problems while being mentored by senior Data Engineers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain Big Data applications and data pipelines within the MDH ecosystem. Develop Spark and Scala-based processing logic for data transformation and curation. Create and optimize Hive and SQL queries to support business and operational requirements. Develop and maintain integrations with HBase, Solr, Janus Graph, Kafka, and downstream applications. Collaborate with team members across Business, Technology, Operations, and D&A capabilities Learn and grow through mentorship from senior Data Engineers Support design, solutioning, and estimation activities as a contributing team member. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline. 1-2 years of software development or data engineering experience (including internships, academic projects, or co-op programs). Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Scala, Hadoop, Hive, or related frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exposure to Gen AI technology and tools Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to DevOps practices: Git, Azure DevOps, or CI/CD pipelines Basic Unix shell scripting; awareness ofKafka, MongoDB, or NiFi Location Expectation:
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office. The expected salary range for this position is $70,000- $90,000.
