Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our growing Data Platform team in The Woodlands, Texas. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and curated data products that support enterprise analytics across TWFG. The ideal candidate is passionate about data engineering, cloud analytics, and modern data platform technologies, with experience transforming raw operational data into trusted, business-ready datasets. You will work closely with software engineers, business analysts, product owners, data developers, and executive stakeholders to deliver high-impact analytics solutions supporting insurance operations, finance, sales, underwriting, and executive reporting. Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Platform Development
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and PySpark notebooks.
  • Develop and optimize lakehouse layers of our Medallion architecture.
  • Create curated dimensional models, fact tables, and semantic-ready datasets for reporting and analytics.
  • Integrate data from internal and external platforms including policy administration systems, carrier systems, vendor platforms, and APIs.
  • Implement data quality controls, validation frameworks, and monitoring processes. Microsoft Fabric & Lakehouse Architecture
  • Develop and maintain Fabric Lakehouses, Mirrored Databases, Dataflows, Notebooks, and Pipelines.
  • Optimize Direct Lake architectures and semantic model performance.
  • Support Power BI Embedded analytics and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Manage large-scale datasets and ensure optimal query performance across analytical workloads. Data Governance & Operational Excellence
  • Participate in data governance initiatives, metadata management, lineage tracking, and cataloging efforts.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, testing, release management, and operational monitoring for data assets.
  • Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and architecture diagrams.
  • Promote engineering best practices and reusable development patterns. Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered. Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Warehousing.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines.
  • Strong SQL development skills.
  • Experience with Python and/or PySpark.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.

  • Knowledge of Delta Lake, OneLake, and Direct Lake architectures.
  • Experience implementing Row-Level Security and enterprise data governance practices.
  • Insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industry experience.
  • Familiarity with data cataloging and lineage tools such as Microsoft Purview. What Success Looks Like Within your first year, you will:
  • Deliver production-ready data pipelines supporting critical business functions.
  • Contribute to the expansion of TWFG's enterprise Microsoft Fabric platform.
  • Enable new data domains and integrations across agency, policy, carrier, quote, and financial systems.
  • Improve data quality, reliability, and governance.

Compensation:
In addition to a salary commensurate with position and experience, TWFG offers a full range of benefits including: o Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance o Life Insurance o 401K with a matching component o LTD - (employer paid) o Education reimbursement based on tenure o Paid Time Off o 9 Paid Holidays a year
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
