Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer / BI Engineer with strong expertise in MicroStrategy and enterprise reporting environments. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience supporting MicroStrategy, along with experience working with legacy BI and reporting technologies such as Power BI and SSRS. The candidate should be comfortable working with data, reporting platforms, data models, SQL, and business intelligence solutions in a healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise BI and reporting solutions.
- Provide strong hands-on technical expertise in MicroStrategy development and administration/support.
- Develop and maintain MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, datasets, metrics, attributes, and related BI objects.
- Analyze existing legacy reporting solutions, including Power BI and SSRS, and support modernization or enhancement initiatives.
- Work with data engineers, BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Develop efficient SQL queries and perform data analysis to support reporting requirements.
- Work with relational databases and enterprise data warehouses.
- Build and maintain data models and reporting datasets.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies, report performance issues, and reporting failures.
- Optimize MicroStrategy reports and underlying queries for performance.
- Support integration and migration of legacy reporting solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to validate data accuracy and reporting outputs.
- Perform root-cause analysis of data and reporting issues.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Develop technical documentation for BI solutions and data processes.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to deliver projects within timelines. Required Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, BI Development, or Business Intelligence.
- Strong hands-on MicroStrategy experience is required.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience working with enterprise data warehouses and relational databases.
- Experience developing and supporting BI reports and dashboards.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, reporting, and analytics.
- Experience troubleshooting data and reporting issues.
- Ability to work effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare industry experience.
- Experience with healthcare claims, eligibility, benefits, membership, or provider data.
- Experience with TPA / Third-Party Administration data.
- Experience modernizing legacy BI/reporting platforms.
- Experience migrating reports from legacy platforms to modern BI technologies.
- Experience with ETL/data integration processes.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with onshore/offshore delivery teams.
