This role transforms raw data into actionable insights that empower Philanthropy, Programs, and cross-functional teams to make informed decisions and advance our mission of ending homelessness. Reporting to the Director of Impact & Learning, with a close partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Programs leadership, this analyst plays a key role in building and stewarding data infrastructure, strengthening data quality, and connecting insights across fundraising, program, and operational domains. This role will help support the organization's transition to Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) and help ensure the system meets both fundraising and programmatic reporting needs. Key Responsibilities Philanthropy Data Strategy & Analytics (Primary Focus) Support the development and execution of a data strategy that ensures strong data integrity and governance across fundraising systems. Analyze fundraising performance, including donor retention, pipeline health, and campaign effectiveness, to identify opportunities and risks. Develop donor segmentation models and prospecting analyses using internal and external data sources. Translate complex fundraising data into clear, compelling insights and recommendations for Philanthropy leadership, executive leadership, and the Board. Program & Cross-Functional Data Analysis (Secondary Focus) Support analysis of program data, including client demographics, service utilization, and outcomes, in partnership with Programs and Impact & Learning teams. Contribute to cross-functional reporting that connects fundraising, program outcomes, and organizational impact. Assist in integrating and analyzing data from additional sources as needed, including operations, facilities, and financial data. Help identify opportunities to use data across departments to improve decision-making, efficiency, and client outcomes. Reporting & Dashboard Development Design, build, and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards that support both Philanthropy and Program teams. Collaborate with the Impact & Learning team to align reporting across fundraising and programmatic impact metrics. Serve as a point of contact for ad hoc data requests across Philanthropy, Programs, and other departments. Ensure reports are accurate, user-friendly, and tailored to different audiences, from frontline staff to executive leadership. System Optimization & Data Infrastructure Serve as a key partner in the implementation and ongoing optimization of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC), representing both philanthropy and program data needs. Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators to ensure system functionality supports reporting, analytics, and workflow needs across teams. Support data validation, migration, and quality assurance processes during and after system transitions. Help improve integration and alignment across data systems where appropriate. Data Literacy & Organizational Enablement Promote data literacy across teams by supporting training on reports, dashboards, and data best practices. Help staff understand how to use data in their day-to-day work and decision-making. Contribute to building a culture of data-informed decision-making, accountability, and continuous learning. Qualifications & Skills Required Strong commitment to the organization's mission to end homelessness. 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or database management, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting. Strong experience with Salesforce reporting and dashboards required; experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources and translate findings into actionable insights for a range of stakeholders. Experience working across teams and balancing competing priorities in a collaborative environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Experience supporting both fundraising and program/service delivery data. Experience with Salesforce system implementations or migrations. Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising metrics, donor segmentation, and prospect research. Experience with program evaluation, outcomes tracking, or human services data. Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
