Data Analytics Engineer - Aerospace (CT)

Full‑time Overview We are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer with a mechanical or aerospace engineering background to support design, manufacturing, and sustainment programs within the aerospace sector. This role blends hands‑on engineering understanding with advanced analytics to improve component performance, streamline production, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with SAP data, building Power BI dashboards, and managing Access databases to drive insights across the product lifecycle. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Systems Support Contribute to the design, evaluation, and improvement of mechanical components and assemblies for aircraft, spacecraft, propulsion systems, or ground‑support equipment. Interpret engineering drawings, test data, and specifications to support technical decision‑making. Data Integration & Analysis Extract, clean, and structure engineering, production, and maintenance data from SAP (PM, MM, PP modules). Perform reliability and performance analytics using test data, flight logs, qualification data, and maintenance records. Identify trends, failure modes, and opportunities for design or process improvements. Manufacturing & Production Optimization Use data to reduce defects, optimize manufacturing flow, and support continuous improvement initiatives in aerospace production environments. Reporting & Database Management Create and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize KPIs such as: Component reliability Non‑conformance trends Supplier performance Equipment utilization Build and maintain Microsoft Access databases to track test results, engineering changes, configuration data, and quality metrics. Compliance & Collaboration Support documentation for aerospace certification and quality assurance (FAA, EASA, DoD). Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain, test engineering, and program management teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Aerospace Engineering , or related field. Proficiency with SAP (production, maintenance, or supply‑chain data). Strong experience with Power BI for data modeling and visualization. Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Access (database creation, queries, reporting). Knowledge of aerospace mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to translate data into engineering action. Familiarity with CAD (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks). Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, propulsion systems, or flight‑test environments. Understanding ofAS9100 , NADCAP
, and other aerospace quality frameworks. Familiarity with reliability engineering tools such asFMEA , FRACAS
, or Weibull analysis . Experience with SQL , Python , or VBA for automation and advanced analytics.Pay:
