Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Claims Analyst proficient in Excel, data entry, and account review to join our dynamic team. This role involves meticulous review and research of accounts, managing claims data, and ensuring accuracy across various financial and billing systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience with accounting and financial software, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data integrity. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to efficient revenue cycle management and support organizational financial health through precise account analysis and research. Responsibilities Review and analyze accounts receivable and accounts payable data to identify discrepancies or anomalies. Conduct detailed research on accounts to resolve billing issues, payment delays, or claim denials. Utilize Excel for data analysis, including creating formulas, spreadsheets, and reports to support account reconciliation. Perform accurate data entry using 10-key typing skills to ensure precise recordkeeping. Reconcile accounts using accounting systems such as Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar software platforms. Collaborate with billing departments and customer service teams to resolve account issues efficiently. Assist in the preparation of journal entries and account adjustments based on research findings. Maintain comprehensive documentation of account reviews and research activities for audit purposes. Support collections account management by following up on outstanding balances professionally. Apply knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 codes, or governmental accounting as needed for specialized claims review. Ensure compliance with financial regulations such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Use various financial software tools including QuickBooks, Quicken, or other billing software for data entry and analysis. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on claims review, data entry, or account reconciliation. Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, functions, and data analysis techniques. Strong understanding of accounting principles such as debits & credits, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping. Familiarity with financial software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. Experience with medical billing processes, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding preferred but not required. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for account analysis and research. Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of SOX compliance standards and governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
