Job Description An employer is looking for a Data Migration & Mapping Analyst for one of our top Utility clients in the Nation. The Data Migration & Mapping Analyst works with the Conversion & Migration Lead to capture source-to-target business rules for customer data conversion. The legacy CIS knowledge comes from the data stewards in each workshop; this role turns what they explain into rules a developer can build from.
Mapping workshops for the first 75 objects start in October 2026, so the analyst needs to be productive in the room quickly. After mapping, the role supports defect triage, source remediation and validation through the mock cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and participate in mapping workshops, and confirm the right stewards attend for each object.
- Document source-to-target mapping rules, transformations and exceptions in a form developers can build from.
- Maintain the mapping decision log, including open questions and who owns each answer.
- Review IBM functional specifications and mapping (due February 2027) for business accuracy.
- Support defect triage during mock cycles by tracing defects to code, rule or source.
- Track source remediation items through to closure with stewards and business teams.
- Validate samples of converted data against legacy records and business rules. Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years in data conversion or data mapping in an Enterprise Environment
- SAP IS-U or
SAP S/4HANA
Utilities conversion mapping, ideally billing, contract account and premise objects
- Utility billing or customer data experience
- Experience across multiple mock conversion cycles
- Familiarity with SAP migration tooling and mapping templates
- SQL for profiling and validating source and target data
- Strong workshop facilitation: drawing rules out of subject matter experts and confirming them back.
