Summary:

The Six Sigma Analyst will work as an integral part of the Six Sigma Team to support internal Ohio Machinery departments by conducting data analysis and creating presentations to recommend decisions and courses of action. This will include working with groups to recommend courses of action in marketing, accounting, and operational areas.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Supports the Ohio Machinery strategic goals by translating business problems into data problems. Evaluates data quality and identifies methods to optimize processes and systems for compiling high-quality data. Completes data analysis such as descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analysis leading to the presentation of recommendations to the business. Leads data analysis projects and employs exceptional statistical analysis and problem-solving skills to interpret Ohio Machinery and third-party data, presenting insights in easy-to-understand presentations and visualizations shared with management and other business functions. Leverages data to improve return on assets customer growth. Helps to coordinate data collection activities and increases business intelligence between the organization, Six Sigma, and the Data Warehouse team. Seeks to embed analytical capabilities across the organization. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. A background in data analysis, engineering, or systems background is also preferred along with one to three years of professional experience. Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions including pivot tables, auto filtering, conditional formatting, text-to-columns, data validations, vlookup, hlookup, count-if, graphing, and if/then formulas. Knowledge of intermediate statistics is required. Must be able to run regression, anova, and a t-test. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL, training in Six Sigma, and experiencing analyzing accounting P&L statements and accounting ledgers are all a plus. Must be able to communicate effectively with business managers, adequately analyze the data, and be able to learn basic project management. Must be knowledgeable in process documentation and other Microsoft applications. Must exhibit customer-focused behavior and be able to establish working relationships with employees at multiple different levels of the organization.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
