The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) serves approximately 37,000 students in 100+ schools. Compensation:
$ 61,510.00 - $ 86,114.00 •Internal applicants are required to upload a resume to their application•The Department of Research, Evaluation, and Accountability (REA), carries out the District's data analytics, accountability, and research work. This Data Analyst will report to the Executive Director of Research, Evaluation, and Accountability. The Data Analyst (Analyst) will provide key support for projects required to ensure the successful development and implementation of the District's key performance indicators. In this support role, the Analyst will contribute to the development of CMSD by helping to manage data collection with school-based and central office staff, assisting with data analysis and producing and distributing reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Analyst will work on specific projects assigned by the Executive Director of Research, Evaluation, and Accountability, including, but not limited to, the following: Analyze and summarize school and student data to help inform policy and practice Assemble data and reports in response to internal and external requests Support advanced analytic work (predictive modeling, machine learning, sample matching, etc.) as needed Prepare presentations that help explain complex analyses for a wide audience Provide administrative and communications support necessary to put the REA strategy and plans into action Work with internal stakeholders to help develop standard processes for accessing and examining internal data systems
QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS with experience in data analysis, statistical reporting, or similar data-rich work preferred; 1-2 years of experience preferred Experience using quantitative skills to examine and transform large datasets using statistical (R, Stata) and/or database programs (Microsoft SQL Server) Experience working with large datasets from multiple source systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) a plus Interest in using and developing quantitative data analysis skills Tenacity, resourcefulness, and the ability to interact effectively with people to acquire information and cooperation Excellent organizational skills, the ability to balance multiple priorities, and relentless attention to detail Personal sense of accountability for the success of Cleveland students Sense of urgency balanced by sensitivity for good process and meaningful results Comfort with the challenges of shaping new work Working Conditions/Physical Demands The characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of this position.
