Job Description:
Role Summary:
The Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our innovative Data Team. The Data Analyst will develop and administer surveys, conduct in-depth data analysis and assist in producing reports and other advocacy materials to advance the goals of the division and the Association. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Data Analyst will work and communicate with hospital members on a range of issues including Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance, and a variety of other hospital finance, operational and policy issues. This full-time position offers a dynamic environment where your skills in data analysis, visualization, and project management will make a tangible impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in data collection and retrieval, preliminary analysis & production of informational and advocacy materials. Develop, conduct and administer surveys and other analytical tools. Gather and analyze external data and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends to assist in the production of written reports and presentations for association staff and membership. Maintain and update key databases used to assess the actual and projected impacts on Massachusetts hospitals of federal and state programs including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and payment policies and the impact of payment reform efforts, as well as other relevant advocacy priorities. Track and assist in the development of informational and advocacy materials related to provider and payer performance; legislative, budgetary and regulatory actions; and a range of clinical performance, quality and safety measures impacting hospitals and other health care providers. Develop written materials and presentations to members, other stakeholders and regulators/legislators and contribute to coalition building efforts of MHA members, advocacy groups and others in the community.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree, or education/training equivalent required. 1-2 years of experience preferred. Outstanding analytical, communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel, Word and Access, required. Experience with survey design and software as well as Tableau preferred. Some local travel within Massachusetts and very infrequent travel outside the state may be required.
Competitive Compensation:
Salary Range:
$65,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience Generous Benefits Package including 401(k) with an employer match, tuition reimbursement, medical/dental/vision benefits, hybrid/remote work schedule, discretionary time off and paid holidays.
