Data Analyst Skills

  • SummaryJob DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated Data Analyst with 3+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming data into actionable insights, developing reports and dashboards, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, patterns, and business insights.
  • Knowledge of data cleansing, validation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Basic experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and reporting best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience working with business intelligence and reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and predictive analytics.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Industry experience in government, healthcare, finance, or insurance is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support business objectives.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through data analysis.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms.
  • Create ad hoc reports and perform data validation as needed.
  • Support data-driven decision-making by providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and leadership teams on data initiatives.
  • Document data definitions, reporting logic, and business metrics.
