Corporate Underwriting Transform complex data into dashboards and insights that support smarter underwriting and risk decisions. What You'll Do Collect, process, and analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights. Design interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that turn raw data into actionable information. Meet with cross-functional partners to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions. Support data validation and testing to improve the reliability and accuracy of analytics outputs. What You'll Gain Experience applying analytics in an insurance and underwriting environment. Practice building dashboards for business stakeholders. Exposure to data quality, validation, and cross-functional problem-solving. Customer Service Quality Analytics You will gain exposure to quality audits, scorecards, coaching trends, reporting, calibrations, and process improvement. You will also evaluate where AI and automation may improve efficiency and consistency, while considering accuracy, risk, customer impact, and the continued need for human judgment. What You'll Do Evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into quality processes Analyze quality data, risk and improvement opportunities. Participate in calibration sessions, and partner with Quality Analys, and other business partners Support quality initiatives by gathering information, tracking progress, and documenting recommendations Develop and present recommendations at the end of the internship. What You'll Gain Hands on experience analyzing operational quality data Experience evaluating practical AI and automation opportunities. Data Governance Learn how a large insurance organization evaluates and governs artificial intelligence and analytics responsibly across business, technology, risk, legal, and compliance considerations. What You'll Do Review and organize information about AI tools, predictive models, generative AI, and analytics use cases. Help maintain complete and accurate AI inventory information. Research responsible AI, insurance applications, regulations, and emerging topics. Summarize findings for business and technical audiences. Explore considerations such as fairness, transparency, accuracy, privacy, human oversight, and accountability. Support third-party AI reviews and analyze AI governance data. Help improve templates, guidance, tracking tools, and processes. What You'll Gain An understanding of the AI use-case lifecycle and responsible AI governance. Experience connecting technology, business, regulation, and risk. An opportunity to contribute to an emerging field without needing to be an AI expert. Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Python, Databricks, or similar technologies is helpful but not required for this opportunity. Enterprise Data and Analytics Support the systems and analyses behind production predictive models and emerging generative AI solutions. What You'll Do Support model-monitoring capabilities for predictive models in production. Build dashboards that help data scientists and business stakeholders monitor model health. Analyze monitoring results and identify areas for further investigation. Depending on project needs, help develop or use ground-truth datasets for generative AI testing. Compare AI-generated responses with expected results. Analyze error patterns and summarize findings. What You'll Gain Exposure to production model monitoring and AI quality evaluation. Experience translating model performance into practical business insights. A closer look at how analytics teams assess emerging solutions. Portfolio Management Analytics Apply Python, SQL, geospatial tools, and business reporting to portfolio risk questions with meaningful business impact. What You'll Do Automate quarterly modeling tasks, including KPI matrices, exceedance probability curves, event loss tables, internal risk reporting, and budget reporting. Create exposure import tables for the Management and Analytics of Exposures platform planned for 2027. Run quarterly reporting data and supplemental wildfire scores for pricing. Research and refine risk accumulation methods by peril. Support monthly geocoding, quarterly DEFCON analysis, and business presentations. Assist with migrating documentation and code to Databricks. What You'll Gain Experience automating high-value portfolio workflows. Exposure to geospatial risk, catastrophe data, and insurance reporting. Practice translating technical analysis into business-ready presentations. What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Rising Junior or Senior at the time of the internship. Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the summer internship program. Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40 to 50% of the time in our Amelia, Ohio office. Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. An eagerness to learn, take initiative, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute to meaningful projects. Technical requirements differ by opportunity. Experience with tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, Excel, Databricks, statistical modeling, or machine learning may be helpful depending on the team.
