Job Description
Description The Data Entry Analyst supports the Tax Department with accurate and timely entry, validation, and organization of transportation and fuel tax data. This role is responsible for processing paper and electronic records, identifying discrepancies, and assisting with quarterly tax reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in both digital systems and physical document environments. Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume data entry and validation related to transportation and fuel tax records
- Process and manage IBMRS filings and related documentation
- Review and input data from paper trip sheets, ensuring proper organization, accuracy, and filing for storage
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic records for compliance and audit readiness
- Analyze and review data for errors, variances, and inconsistencies
- Investigate and correct issues such as:
- Incorrect or missing odometer readings
- Invalid or incorrect state abbreviations
- Mileage or fuel discrepancies
- Generate and review variance reports to identify data anomalies
- Perform corrections and edits (including high-volume batch updates) as needed
- Complete ad hoc requests for data edits, adjustments, and reporting
- Support fuel tax reporting processes (e.g., IFTA-related activities) Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in data entry, data analysis, or accounting support preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in data
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Adobe
- OneNote or similar tools
- Ability to manage both paper-based and digital workflows
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with transportation or fuel tax processes is a plus Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Collierville, TN.
