Job Description
Data Governance Analyst San Francisco, CA - Remote (Onsite only if absolutely required) 6 Months Local candidates only Key Responsibilities Execute data stewardship activities under the direction of Business Data Stewards. Define, maintain, and enhance business metadata, including business definitions, attributes, and data standards. Review and validate data profiling results. Identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and support remediation efforts. Provide business context for datasets, including creation, consumption, and dependency mapping. Support Planning-for-Control readiness by ensuring required metadata, business rules, and data quality checks are complete. Collaborate with Technical Stewards and System Owners to validate data lineage and system behavior. Escalate risks, gaps, and governance concerns impacting dataset maturity and compliance. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Data Management experience. Strong experience with metadata management, business glossaries, and data standards. Hands-on experience with data quality analysis, profiling, and remediation activities. Understanding of data lineage, data lifecycle management, and governance frameworks. Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and system owners. Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Preferred Experience Experience with enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation, or Microsoft Purview. Experience with data quality tools and governance controls. Background supporting enterprise data governance programs and data maturity initiatives.
