Overview:

We are seeking a Data Governance Consultant to support the execution of an established data governance strategy. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and responsible for implementing governance frameworks, policies, and tools across the organization to ensure data quality, compliance, and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

Execution/Functional Implement and operationalize the existing data governance framework and policies Work with business and IT teams to enforce data standards, definitions, and ownership (data stewardship) Establish and maintain data quality rules, metrics, and monitoring processes Drive adoption of data governance practices across departments Support data classification, lineage, and metadata management initiatives Technical/Tools Configure and support data governance and catalogue tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.) Implement data lineage and metadata management solutions Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure governance is embedded in pipelines Support data access controls and compliance requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

5 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality Proven experience in executing data governance programs (not just strategy) Hands-on experience with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.) Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, lineage, and stewardship concepts Ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in Public Sector/Government environments Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
