Job Description

MPH in biostats. At least 1 year of work experience on research studies. Can program in R, Python, databricks, etc (SAS not required at this point given our move away from SAS in one year). Currently employed would be great or recently employed to show current skills sets. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Job Summary In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for programming in analytical programming languages (may include Databricks, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, etc.
), data management, and quality control support for a wide variety of projects under the supervision of more senior employees. The role oversees all phases of data management, quality control, and reporting, and defines analytical variables collaboratively with other researchers and statisticians. This position also performs analytical tasks using appropriate analytical tools; designs and generates tracking and data entry tools as needed; designs automated reporting and data loading schemes; develops comprehensive quality checking and validation processes; and designs troubleshooting software and programs. Essential Responsibilities Pursues self-development and effective working relationships by proactively providing resources, information, advice, and expertise to coworkers and customers. Influences others through technical explanations and examples, provides occasional mentoring, listens to and responds to feedback, creates plans to develop strengths and address weaknesses, anticipates the needs of others, and adapts to change and challenges. Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date subject matter expertise to generate creative solutions while ensuring adherence to procedures and policies. Leverages data and resources to support projects, collaborates cross-functionally to solve business problems, monitors priorities and deadlines, communicates progress, identifies improvement opportunities, and escalates issues or risks when appropriate. Supports and develops analytical and/or statistical models that enable informed business decisions by determining analytical requirements, creating models that produce actionable insights, and testing, refining, and validating those models. Gathers data and information on targeted variables using systematic methods, including validating data sources; querying, merging, and extracting data across multiple systems; completing routine data refreshes; developing tools for electronic data collection; and providing user training, support, and documentation. Supports interpretation of data analysis results by applying findings to real-world contexts under the guidance of senior staff, and develops reports and presentations that communicate insights clearly to stakeholders to support decision-making. Develops, implements, and automates business and reporting solutions in collaboration with stakeholders. Ensures consistency and coherency of solutions, summarizes data and results, creates summary statistics, organizes data reports and visualizations, develops interactive Business Intelligence (BI) reports, identifies the need for additional reporting solutions, and prepares supporting documentation. Prepares data for analytical use by consolidating data from multiple sources, reviewing for quality and accuracy, profiling data issues, cleaning datasets, and creating final datasets for analysis. Supports data-informed decision-making by consulting with clients to clarify business needs, developing outcome and process measures, translating business requirements into analytical plans, determining data collection methods, measuring the impact of business decisions, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through analysis, supporting and training end users, and documenting processes and deliverables. Supports the execution of creative data analytic approaches by identifying metrics for analysis, calculating algorithms, and conducting analyses under senior guidance, including descriptive, correlational, inferential, and predictive statistics. Minimum Qualifications Minimum three (3) years of experience programming with Python, SQL, R, , or other similar analytical programming languages Minimum three (3) years of data management experience using Python, SQL, R, or similar tools Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Social Sciences, Physical/Life Sciences, Business, or a related field Minimum three (3) years of experience in data analytics or a directly related field Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Data Integration
