Data Retrieval Specialist Location:
Remote/Telecommute (California)

$33.02/hr Position Overview Seeking a detail-oriented Data Retrieval Specialist to support quality initiatives including HEDIS, Risk Adjustment, quality reporting, and special healthcare projects. This short-term assignment is ideal for candidates with healthcare data collection experience and proficiency navigating Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Under the direction of the Data Quality team, this role is responsible for collecting, tracking, researching, validating, and managing medical record data from provider offices while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality reporting requirements. The position requires strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage scheduling, retrieval, tracking, monitoring, and quality assurance of medical record collection activities. Collect and validate data supporting HEDIS, Risk Adjustment, Quality, and regulatory reporting initiatives. Navigate various EMR systems to retrieve and extract required medical record information. Build and maintain strong relationships with provider offices and staff to support ongoing data collection efforts. Serve as a Team Lead for HEDIS chart collection activities, including project planning, training, chart retrieval, quality assurance, and follow-up. Conduct research, data entry, validation, and quality control according to established protocols. Analyze and monitor collected data to identify trends, deficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Generate reports and support data analysis for quality initiatives. Maintain strict confidentiality while handling protected health information (PHI). Provide administrative and clerical support to the Data Quality team. Support supplemental data collection, quality assurance, reporting, and research activities as needed. Escalate issues and concerns when trends or deficiencies are identified. Ensure adherence to project timelines and deadlines. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 3+ years of administrative experience in an office environment. 1+ year of healthcare data collection experience using EMR systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Strong data entry skills and attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree. Experience as an EMR Technician. Health Information Management (HIM) certification. Experience supporting HEDIS, Risk Adjustment, Quality Improvement, or healthcare reporting initiatives. Experience working with health plans, managed care organizations, or physician practices.
