PEMEX Deer Park provides a diverse and inclusive work environment that employs approximately 1000 employees with another 1200 contractors on site. The refinery's rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The PEMEX Deer Park site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. For more information, please visit our website: PEMEX Job Summary The Safety Engineer is responsible for the administration, quality, and effectiveness of incidents, near miss, and related information within the Enablon system. This role focuses on ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent reporting; maintaining data quality and integrity; monitoring workflows and action follow-through; and enabling reliable data for learning, performance tracking, and continuous improvement. The position supports a strong reporting culture and ensures information is managed in accordance with company standards and governance expectations.Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary focal point for incident, near miss, and event reporting within the Enablon system. Ensure accurate, timely, and complete data entry for incidents, near misses, hazards, and observations. Maintain data quality standards, including validation, consistency, and completeness of records. Monitor reporting workflows to ensure proper classification, severity assignment, and progression through required stages. Provide day-to-day system support, guidance, and troubleshooting for Enablon users. Support ongoing Enablon configuration, data fields, and workflows in alignment with reporting requirements. Track assigned actions, recommendations, and corrective measures to ensure timely completion and closure. Monitor backlog, overdue items, and workflow bottlenecks within Enablon. Support managers and leaders with visibility to action status and reporting performance. Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and routine reports related to reporting timeliness, data quality, and closure performance. Identify data gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve reporting compliance and execution. Establish and maintain standards for reporting quality and documentation. Conduct periodic reviews and audits of records to ensure adherence to company procedures. Coordinate required notifications and documentation routing, including alignment with legal or regulatory needs when applicable. Support consistent application of reporting and documentation requirements across sites and departments. Support analysis of incidents, near miss, and other data to identify trends, patterns, and systemic risks. Assist in capturing, organizing, and sharing lessons learned based on reported data. Provide data and reports to support leadership reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Recommend improvements to reporting processes, workflows, and system use based on data insights and user feedback.Qualifications:
Experience with HSSE, EHS, or risk management data systems (Enablon experience strongly preferred). Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to manage data quality and reporting accuracy. Understanding reporting processes and performance metrics. Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience Experience supporting HSSE or operational reporting programs. Strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to work across functions and support users with varying levels of system familiarity. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process efficiency and reliability. Ability to analyze data and translate information into actionable insights.Education and Experience:
B.S. in Safety or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with HSSE, EHS, or risk management data systems (Enablon experience strongly preferred).
