Oncor (together with its subsidiaries) operates the largest transmission and distribution system in Texas, delivering power to nearly 4 million homes and businesses and operating more than 144,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines in Texas. Summary Provides both broad and detailed operational analysis. Monitors and reports on Right of Way (ROW) Department and Contractor performance, and defects. Serves as a business subject matter expert for ROW systems and processes. Provides business analysis of issues to identify impacts to internal and external customers. Identifies operational opportunities for improvement. This role creates, analyzes and tracks ROW project data to improve project management, research and acquisition processes and efficiencies related to Oncor's System Resiliency Program, New Construction Management, Local Design, Program Design, Network, and Relocation activities. Key Roles & Responsibilities Generates top quality ROW monthly, quarterly and annual external reporting and; internal weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc performance metrics reporting. Maintains aggregate performance data necessary for generating internal and external (regulatory required) reports. Designs, builds and implements controls to address ROW deficiencies, and internal project audit. Develops and provides reports on project status and performance metrics. Designs, builds and maintains small applications that report on ROW activities and performance. Works directly and indirectly with business partners to improve processes and resolve operational challenges. Performs frequent ad hoc data mining, reporting and generation of decision support data and presentation. Promotes and actively participates in safe work practices. Skills Strong understanding of database design from desktop to mainframe and data warehousing. Data mining experience in a heterogeneous database environment. Ability to learn new software and techniques as needed to accomplish tasks. Ability to write new and understand existing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries utilizing various Database Management System (DBMS) including DB2, Oracle, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Structured Query Language. Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to create new and automate existing applications utilizing Microsoft Office applications and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Education & Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
Data Analyst Level:
Requires 2+ years of relevant experience as a business data analyst and/or operations analyst.
Data Analyst Senior Level:
Requires 3+ years of relevant experience as a business data analyst and/or operations analyst. Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Computer Science or similar is encouraged to apply. Measures of Success Development and communication of timely and accurate financial and operations reporting. Taking ownership of all assigned tasks and projects and delivering credible results, with timely reports on progress to supervision. Utilize time constructively by performing productive actions to complete tasks and achieve goals. Ability to build solid working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of updated processes and controls. Able to clearly and concisely communicate ideas, processes, and issue resolutions to individuals or to large groups (internal and external).
