Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Data Analyst II is responsible for analyzing, validating and reporting clinical, operational and finance performance data for Fortify Children's Health ("Fortify"), a pediatric clinically integrated network (CIN) co-founded by Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters and the University of Virginia Children's Hospital. This role exists to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable insights are available to guide organizational and clinical decision-making. This role operates with some independence and contributes to continuous improvement of analytics processes and reporting systems. Reports to departmental leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the effective utilization of Fortify's IT products and population health management platforms as determined by Fortify. Analyze healthcare datasets to support value-based care initiatives, performance monitoring and reporting requirements. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support clinical operations. Validate and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of data through reconciliation and quality assurance processes. Collaborate with medical directors, care managers and IT stakeholders to support improvement efforts. Design and optimize data queries, models, and workflows using SQL, analytics platforms, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and scalability. Maintain and report on financial payout and incentive data for value-based care programs. Develops standardized reports, maintains data integrity, and supports performance monitoring across value-based care arrangements. Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to translate data into meaningful information that improves quality, efficiency, and financial outcomes. Performs other duties, tasks and specialized projects as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in a field related to data analytics from an accredited college or university. 5+ years of experience in design, collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation of quantitative information (Health care setting preferred). Preferred Education and Experience Master's in Statistics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability in database development, programming, and data analysis. Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and business insights. Demonstrated ability to use statistical modeling to support decision making as a means to improve quality, impact costs or determine financial impact of a proposal. Ability to translate detailed and complex data into understandable conclusions and offer valued solutions. Must have demonstrated organizational skills, the ability to manage a large volume of work, tight deadlines, and frequently shifting priorities. Competent in data manipulation and analysis. Strong knowledge of reporting, data analysis and information presentation. Proficient research, writing, and oral communications. Mature interpersonal skills; self-motivated; detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Able to develop partnerships, high functioning teams, and good working relationships across work units. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience utilizing large, patient databases (i.e. electronic health records, administrative claims, adverse event report database). Familiarity with Tableau, Business Objects, and/or PowerBI. Familiarity with SQL R, SPSS, and/or
STATA. WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
