School of Medicine Job Description The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct interdisciplinary research in clinical informatics and precision health, with an emphasis on developing and applying computational, statistical, and artificial intelligence methods to integrate and analyze clinical, genomic, multi-omics, and other biomedical data. The Fellow will contribute to research projects focused on disease prediction, biomarker discovery, patient stratification, clinical outcome modeling, and precision medicine, with the goal of translating data-driven discoveries into clinically relevant applications. The Fellow will collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators and clinicians at UAB and contribute to scientific publications, grant applications, presentations, and development of reproducible computational workflows. Required Qualifications PhD in Bioinformatics, AI & Health Application The Fellow is expected to demonstrate proficiency in computational and statistical analysis of biomedical data, programming in relevant languages such as Python and/or R, and application of machine learning or artificial intelligence methods to clinical and biomedical problems. Additional competencies include data integration and preprocessing, critical interpretation of research findings, scientific writing and communication, reproducible research practices, and the ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within multidisciplinary research teams. The Fellow is also expected to progressively develop research independence, contribute to mentoring of junior trainees, writing career development proposals and acquire the skills necessary for an independent career in clinical informatics and precision health. Prior first-author publications in high quality journals are a must.
