Job Description
Play a part in building the next revolution of machine learning technology. We're looking for passionate mid-level and senior researchers to work on ambitious curiosity driven long-term research projects that will impact the future of Apple, and our products. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on innovative foundational research in machine learning. As a member of the team, you will be inspired by a diversity of challenging problems, collaborate with world-class machine learning engineers and researchers to impact the future of Apple products, and publish some of your results in high-quality scientific venues.
DescriptionYou have a strong research background in machine learning or related fields, and regularly publish your results in the main relevant conference and journal venues, and make sure that your research results are of high quality and reproducible. You will propose your own research plan to advance our understanding of machine learning and execute it through implementation and experimentation, in collaboration with your colleagues. You will provide technical mentorship and guidance, and prepare technical reports for publication and conference talks. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with broader teams across Apple.
Preferred QualificationsAbility to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement and communicate solutionsAbility to work in a diverse collaborative environmentPhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science, or related technical fieldMinimum QualificationsDemonstrated expertise in machine learning researchPublication record in relevant conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ACL, EMNLP, etc)Hands-on experience working with deep learning toolkits such as Tensorflow or PyTorchStrong mathematical skills in linear algebra and statisticsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $386,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
