Our research group works at the intersection of machine learning, medical imaging, biomedical engineering, and cancer research, with a particular focus on developing computational methods to analyze imaging and clinical data in patients with liver cancer.
What you would work on:
  • Machine learning and deep learning applied to medical imaging and clinical data
  • Quantitative analysis of CT, MRI, and other imaging modalities
  • Multimodal and longitudinal data analysis
  • Development and validation of imaging biomarkers
  • Translational research in liver cancer and interventional oncology

Strong candidates with backgrounds in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Experience with Python, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, image processing, or statistical data analysis would be particularly valuable. Why Yale? This is intended to be a mentored academic research experience rather than simply a programming position. Trainees participate directly in research projects, lab meetings, collaborations, and the broader academic environment at Yale, with opportunities to contribute to publications and scientific presentations. We have a long track record of mentoring young researchers at this career stage. Previous members of our research environment have subsequently pursued training or positions at MIT, Columbia, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, and other leading institutions, as well as careers in the biomedical and technology industries. Our group also has collaborative ties with institutions in Israel, including Hadassah, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, and Reichman University. We particularly encourage applicants who are academically curious, interested in publishing research, and considering future graduate or doctoral training, as well as those seeking advanced academic research experience before pursuing a career in the medical technology industry. J-1 visa sponsorship is available through Yale for eligible candidates.
