Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support data pipeline and reporting needs. Translate business and engineering requirements into structured data solutions that enable reliable data flow across systems. Collaborate with analysts, architects, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and validate current-state and future-state processes. Maintain a central data dictionary, metadata, naming conventions, and data standards to support consistency and governance. Improve data model performance by reducing redundancy, supporting reuse, and helping optimize database efficiency. Support data integration across systems and assist with reverse engineering existing databases when needed. Document data architecture changes, perform impact analysis, and support configuration control efforts. Help identify authoritative source systems and support data replication and transformation across environments. Contribute to data quality, validation, and control processes to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure issues while supporting ongoing maintenance and performance improvements. Skills 6+ years of relevant experience in data modeling, data management, or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Data Science, Math, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts, including ERDs, normalization, dimensional modeling, and metadata repositories. Hands-on experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts. Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex data challenges. Experience supporting data governance, data quality, and documentation standards. Ability to work effectively in team-based environments where collaboration and reliability are essential. Preferred Skills Experience with tools such as Power BI, Visual Basic, MS Excel, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, MagicDraw, Midas, AWS, AWS Redshift, SSAS, Alation, Dataiku, or Oracle. Exposure to big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark. Familiarity with cloud-based data services such as AWS or Azure. Background in Agile or Scrum environments. Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing-related data environments. Knowledge of structured problem-solving methods. Experience working with development teams and understanding technical requirements.
