Full Job Description Overview:
Falconwood is a woman-owned, veteran-owned company providing consultation and programmatic support to Department of Defense Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert advice and consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition, policy, cybersecurity, engineering, and process development. The Data Scientist I will be responsible for supporting data-driven analysis and decision-making tools for the Commander, Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) N6 Directorate, particularly within the Command Data Office (CDO).Responsibilities:
This entry-level data science role supports the development of analytical tools and workflows that power mission decision-making across the Navy Information Warfare enterprise. The candidate will perform data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization to deliver operational insights aligned with NAVIFOR's data strategy. This is a hybrid position based in Suffolk, VA, with limited travel anticipated.Responsibilities:
Perform analysis and modeling of large, complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights Support the development of dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools using modern BI platforms Assist in the integration of structured and unstructured data sources to support analytics workflows Conduct data profiling, cleaning, transformation, and normalization activities Apply machine learning and statistical analysis techniques to support mission-aligned use cases Support the development of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and data structures for reporting Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to turn analytical insights into production-ready tools Contribute to the implementation of the NAVIFOR data strategy across enterprise platformsQualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related disciplineExperience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, databases, visualization, and applied codingClearance:
Active Secret Clearance requiredTechnical Skills:
Must have 2+ years of experience developing and designing in Office 365 (O365) and Microsoft Power Platform business solutions to include Power Apps, Power Automate, Flow, DataVerse, and Power BI.Other abilities required:
Designing Applications:
Providing design and technical support, assistance, and training for data management, analysis, interoperability, database/dashboard design and development, data standardization and maintenance.Building Workflows and Automation:
Implementing automated workflows and business processes using Power Automate , enabling smoother operations.Data Management and Integration:
Managing and integrating data from various sources using Power BI and Power Query , ensuring seamless data flow across systems.Compliance and Security:
Adhering to organizational policies and ensuring security and compliance within the solutions created.Stakeholder Requirements Analysis:
Collaborating with business analysts, end-users, and other stakeholders to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into effective solutions. Must have 3+ years of hands-on data science and visualization experience in multiple platforms ( Power BI, SharePoint, Tableau, Qlik) in support of government clients.Desirable:
Using Power FX:
Crafting formulas to enable complex functions and logic within the applications, as per the business requirements. SharePoint Online (SPO)The Candidate:
Must be technically savvy and possess excellent communication skills Must have effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills Must be self-motivated and able to deliver with minimal supervision Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook This position is fast paced and high demand that is a hybrid position (onsite and remote) in Suffolk, VA. Limited to no travel is anticipated.Pay Range:
