Job Description
Senior Data Scientist Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to work in Chattanooga, TN. This is a long-term contract with the largest public energy provider in the U.S.
Hourly Rate Range:
$75.00 to $79.00 (DOE), p/h (time & a half for overtime)Citizenship:

Local or Regional candidates only. Description This posting is for a Sr. Data Scientist position in AI Operations & Governance. The responsibilities of this role include:- Proficiency in AI, Machine learning (ML), AI development, deployment, and implementing AI/ML, LLMs, GenAI/Agentic AI applications, tools, and technology, and to support operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance.
- Knowledge of AI Architecture for implementation of AI solutions and end-to-end AI pipelines, securely integrating with enterprise systems, and leveraging cloud-based platforms and AI Governance and MLOps practices (Machine Learning Operations).
- Developing and maintaining AI governance frameworks, including evaluating AI solutions and technologies, managing AI solutions across the AI lifecycle, model monitoring, bias detection, and explainability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions are compliant, secure, and aligned with the company's regulatory, ethical, and operational standards.
- Supporting the development of AI observability tools and pipelines to ensure transparency and accountability in AI-driven decisions.
- Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, operations research, decision science, or a related quantitative field, plus professional experience performing analytics, including statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and computer programming. A master's degree and/or a PhD degree is highly preferred.
- At least five years of experience with advanced analytics, including predictive analytics, machine learning, deep learning, mathematical optimization, and risk simulation, in either an academic or professional setting.
