Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Data Science-related field required Advanced degree (MS) preferred
Years of Experience:
Meets GEO-SPI Level 3 requirements (5 experience points), which equates to: 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree + 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's + Master's degree in a STEM field Overview This position supports a GEOINT-focused team on an effort at NGA. The team is responsible for improving GEOINT collection methods through advanced analytics, data science, and research-driven initiatives. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments, enjoys research-style problem solving, and can develop creative, data-driven solutions to complex intelligence challenges. Candidates will be evaluated on a rolling basis, and the most qualified candidate will be selected. Key Responsibilities Data Science & Analytics Apply data science methodologies to support and enhance GEOINT collection strategies Develop and implement analytical models using structured and unstructured intelligence data Apply machine learning algorithms to intelligence datasets to identify patterns and insights Research & Innovation Work on research-oriented projects with loosely defined problem sets Develop innovative approaches to improve intelligence collection and analysis Test and validate new analytic methodologies Data Integration & Processing Work with multi-INT datasets to support mission objectives Utilize data preparation and transformation tools to structure intelligence data for analysis Integrate data across multiple intelligence systems and platforms Collaboration & Mission Support Collaborate with cross-functional teams across NGA and partner organizations Support evolving mission needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Continuously adapt to new tools, technologies, and analytic frameworks
Required Skills Hard Requirements:
Active TS/SCI clearance with willingness to obtain a CI polygraph Ability to work onsite in Springfield, VA (40 hours/week, no telework) Strong proficiency in Python Experience applying data science or analytics in a professional setting Ability to work independently in ambiguous, research-driven environments Preferred Skills Knowledge of GEOINT collection and NGA/NRO systems Experience with tools such as JEMA or low-side equivalents (ESRI Model Builder, Alteryx, Tableau Prep) Experience with Activity-Based Intelligence (ABI) Experience applying machine learning techniques to intelligence data Experience working with multi-INT datasets Familiarity with additional programming languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) Strong ability to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving mission requirements
