Job Description
Job Summary As a Data Typist at Watearth, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and updating the organization's records by inputting large volumes of data with accuracy and attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include transcribing handwritten or digital information into spreadsheets, databases, and other formats while ensuring data integrity and organization. You will support various departments in ensuring the accuracy and timely entry of important environmental data related to water sustainability projects. Key Responsibilities Input data into digital systems such as spreadsheets, databases, and software tools with high accuracy. Transcribe and type information from handwritten or scanned documents. Review and verify data for completeness, consistency, and correctness before entering it into databases. Organize and maintain files and records, ensuring easy retrieval when needed. Perform regular data backups and updates to ensure database integrity. Work closely with team members from various departments to ensure seamless data flow and reporting. Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations using collected data. Ensure all confidential information is handled in accordance with company policies. Help with administrative tasks as required, including organizing data entry procedures and improving data management practices. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a Data Typist, Data Entry Clerk, or in a similar role. Strong typing speed with high accuracy (minimum typing speed of [Insert Words Per Minute]). Proficiency in using data entry software, spreadsheets (Excel), and databases. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of environmental data or sustainability projects is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with environmental or water sustainability data. Familiarity with software tools related to water data management or geographic information systems (GIS). Experience working with confidential or sensitive information.
