In this energetic role, you will support the billing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate data entry, account reconciliation, and timely client communication. Responsibilities Manage billing data entry using various accounting systems and billing software to ensure accuracy and completeness. Reconcile accounts receivable and payable transactions, verifying debits & credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Assist with account analysis, journal entries, and double entry bookkeeping to maintain precise financial records. Support collections account management by following up on overdue invoices and resolving discrepancies through effective client communication. Utilize Excel data analysis skills, including formulas and spreadsheets, to generate reports and identify trends or issues in billing data. Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and supporting audit procedures. Collaborate with the finance team on month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and financial reporting. Requirements Prior experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within public accounting or corporate accounting environments. Proficiency with financial software such as Quick Books, Sage, People Soft, or similar systems. Strong knowledge of GAAP standards, SOX compliance requirements, and technical accounting concepts. Demonstrated ability in Excel data analysis, including creating formulas and working with spreadsheets for account analysis. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency) and attention to detail. Effective communication skills for client interaction and customer service excellence via phone etiquette. Familiarity with accounts receivable management, credit analysis, and collections processes is highly desirable.
