Job Title:
Master Data Specialist Job Description The Master Data Specialist creates and maintains master data related to materials, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, suppliers, and maintenance data modules. This role ensures a high level of data integrity, governance, and service to internal customers while supporting the development and continuous improvement of master data management processes within a regulated environment. Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain master data for materials, bills of materials, routings, suppliers, and maintenance data modules in line with established standards. Process master data requests in accordance with defined service level agreements and respond to related queries in a timely and professional manner. Drive internal control, regulatory, and process compliance through active understanding, engagement, and vigilance in all master data activities. Provide problem-solving support, advice, and guidance to internal customers, taking ownership of issues through to resolution. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly master data processes and tasks to the required quality and accuracy standards. Maintain a complete and accurate audit trail of all data changes to support traceability and compliance requirements. Resolve internal and external data queries promptly and thoroughly, ensuring clear communication and follow-up. Support the setup and maintenance of BOM structures in SAP to enable accurate planning, production, and reporting. Contribute to the development and improvement of master data management practices, procedures, and documentation. Support engineering change orders in SAP by ensuring related master data is updated correctly and on time. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in the setup and maintenance of bill of material (BOM) structures. Hands-on experience working with SAP for master data creation and maintenance. Experience working in a regulated industry environment. Strong understanding of bills of materials, routings, and related manufacturing master data. Ability to process master data requests accurately and within defined service level agreements. Ability to maintain a full audit trail of data changes to meet compliance and traceability requirements. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide clear advice and guidance to internal customers. Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of data integrity and governance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with engineering change orders in SAP or similar ERP systems. Familiarity with master data governance concepts and best practices. Experience supporting manufacturing and lab operations through accurate master data. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as engineering, operations, and supply chain. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders. Proactive mindset with an interest in helping to build and improve master data processes as product lines grow. Work Environment The role operates in a casual manufacturing and laboratory environment that combines hands-on operational activity with data-focused office work. You will work with SAP and related systems to support growing product lines and help set up new structures that directly impact the organization. The setting is professional yet relaxed, with a focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and supporting production and lab teams through accurate and reliable master data. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
