Data Specialist

Technical Specialist Description As a Specialist , you will serve as a subject matter expert for catalog systems, data pipelines, and workflow automation. You'll handle complex catalog and tooling issues, perform data validation and root‑cause analysis, and drive improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across workflows. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to test, document, and operationalize new tools and processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong data fluency, technical curiosity, and a passion for leveraging technology and AI to improve how teams work. What You'll Do Act as a subject matter expert for complex catalog workflows, data models, and system integrations. Troubleshoot and resolve escalations using SQL, Mode, and Snowflake to identify root causes and validate data accuracy. Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Engineering, and Tooling teams to test, document, and launch new technical solutions. Leverage AI and automation tools to identify workflow improvements, detect errors, and enhance data quality. Write and refine structured prompts for troubleshooting and automation; support adoption of effective prompt‑writing practices across the team. Identify recurring system issues and deliver data‑backed recommendations for tooling and process improvements. Support the rollout of new technical workflows by ensuring thorough testing, documentation, and accuracy. Serve as a go‑to resource for Specialists on technical best practices, data literacy, and efficient tool usage . Uphold high standards for quality, accuracy, and efficiency across all deliverables. Required Skills Excel Data management and data sets Analytics SQL and querying Mode High‑volume data work / data entry Top Skills Excel Data accuracy & data sets SQL Additional Skills & Qualifications Advanced analytical and technical problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in SQL , with the ability to independently query Mode, Snowflake, or similar data environments. Experience with automation tools, AI‑assisted workflows, or scripting , such as Apps Script, Python, OpenAI, Gemini, or equivalent. Strong systems thinking — understanding how tools, data, and workflows connect. Clear communicator, able to explain complex concepts through written documentation and real‑time troubleshooting. Curious and proactive in exploring new tools, AI models, and automation techniques. Enjoys mentoring peers and helping others build technical confidence. Able to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities. Experience Level Entry‑Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
